The Repensar las Americas / Rethinking the Americas series comprises monographs by individual or collective authors that thoroughly examine the historical and current socio-political issues in the Americas from an interdisciplinary perspective, challenging and rethinking the current research state. Additionally, the series seeks to expand its reach to a broader social audience beyond the specialized academic community. The monographs are published in English, Spanish, or German. The Repensar las Americas / Rethinking the Americas series welcomes submissions on a range of Inter-American Studies topics, covering transnational transfer and entanglement processes, as well as socio-political features of the region.

Schaefer, Seibert & Tovar Simoncic: Religión, identidad y movilización en contexto de crisis
La praxis religiosa es cada vez más relevante como respuesta a las múltiples crisis que azotan el continente. En ella encontramos tanto la complicidad con como la resistencia a los agentes de estas crisis, por lo que la complejidad del fenómeno pide herramientas adecuadas para su comprensión.
Este libro presenta un enfoque sociológico de la praxis religiosa basado en la praxeología del sociólogo francés Pierre Bourdieu. Fue desarrollado durante las tres décadas pasadas en contextos de crisis bélica y post-conflicto ensociedades latinoamericanas y del sur-este europeo.
Bazán Seminario: La justicia moderna colonial en el Sur Global
Mediante una exploración marrón y decolonial este libro muestra cómo se manifiesta la colonialidad del poder en las actoras y los actores del sistema de justicia estatal peruano que participaron en aquella protesta y que en los años sucesivos continuaron con las investigaciones fiscales y procesos derivados de ella. El término marrón sirve para reivindicar una forma de ver el mundo. No se trata de recaer en la racialización del otro, sino de valorar esfuerzos epistemológicos no eurocéntricos, desde una perspectiva decolonial y un estudio cualitativo. En esa línea, el objetivo no solo es describir e interpretar lo sucedido, sino actuar para denunciar situaciones de dominación y acompañar a los sujetos y las sujetas de esta investigación.
Kaltmeier, Peters & Volmer (Eds.): Environments of Inequality: Crises, Conflicts, Comparisons
Multiple environmental crises and persistent patterns of intersecting inequalities are major global concerns. This edited volume contributes to a better understanding of environments of inequality by examining their various formations and expressions, from the colonial period to the present, with a strong (but not exclusive) focus on the Americas. The nine case studies especially reflect on the interrelationship between social inequality and the natural environment. The authors address crises, conflicts, and comparisons of inequalities from various disciplinary and regional perspectives. The volume has three thematic sections: first, conflicts and contests over resources and territory; second, crises of environmental politics; and third, constructions of inequality: discourses of disruption. Drawing on ongoing innovative research projects, the chapters in this volume discuss highly relevant issues and show that intersectionality is key to understanding environmental inequalities.
